THEIRS Program
The THEIRS program is based on the Ideals of togetherness, housing, employment, independence, recovery, self-awareness. THEIRS was created in 1996 to accommodate single mothers and their children. It allows women to continue to receive supportive services that helped them progress towards independence, while they deal with the challenges of family reunification.
Important facts about THEIRS:
- Houses five families at a time.
- Offers separate bedrooms and private baths.
- Provides parenting classes.
- Runs family-focused activities.
- Program stay is one year.
THEIRS seeks to prevent serious problems that plague the development of children's full potential during the early years of their development. One of our goals is to reduce the time a child must spend in the foster care system. We understand that as children mature, they need parents, siblings, relatives who love them, as well as other peers to befriend them and teachers to prepare them. Out multi-family, case-managed setting provides these essential components for each child.
In 2004, 100% of our families in the THEIRS program accomplished their immediate goals, moved on to independent living and are currently working full-time jobs.
